airports but is the closest to central London. This is truly a city airport.
It is served by just 11 airlines, flying from 18 European destinations, so it
is mainly restricted to business flights. Located in the Docklands, 6 miles
from the City and 3 miles from Canary Wharf.
Gatwick Airport.
Gatwick is the UK’s second busiest airport. It is also the worlds busiest
single runway airport. Gatwick airport consists of two terminals, named North
and South terminals and connected by a sky train. Located in West Sussex about
25 miles south of Central London.
Heathrow Airport.
Heathrow is London's main airport and the world's busiest international airport
and as a result it is divided into 4 terminals. Over 90 airlines made Heathrow
Airport theirs base. Over 60 millions passenger pass through its terminals annually.
It is situated in Hounslow, in west London, approximately 12 miles from The
City.
Luton Airport.
Although located several miles outside London, Luton Airport is classed by many
as one of London's airports. It is definitely stretching the boundary of London,
but it is pretty close when you can get to the various stations that serve the
airport.
Stansted Airport is the smallest of London's international
airports. It has one terminal serving international and domestic flights. It
is located 35 miles to the north-east of The City. From Liverpool Street station
it's just a matter of getting on to the Sky train and you're there in 40 minutes.
